Last thursday in a pyramisa seminar organised by Apple Pie and ABM, a room full of some 30 pro photographers from students to fine arts professors to pro photo journalists all came to see what world renowned photographer Ayman Lotfy had to say about his new found love Aperture 2 (iPhoto’s big brother). “There was once Photoshop, now there is Aperture to edit and finish your pro photos quickly and superbly.”

If you’re a pro photographer then you need to invest in the best technology in order to get the best results, and not just say that is the way I’m used to it or that’s how every body else does it, looking for new tools and software is a must. Aperture 2 features incredible tools for managing massive libraries, speeding through photo edits, making essential image adjustments, and delivering photos online and in print using one simple, integrated workflow.

Ayman specially stressed on Aperture’s performance, simplicity, and imaging capabilities; it’s speed to finish up photos for pro photo journalists who are constantly under the deadline.

Aperture’s unique approach to post-production has been hailed by reviewers and pro photographers around the world as a breakthrough in pro photo workflow, dramatically streamlining tasks that used to require multiple applications and laborious steps. While some of these workflow concepts have been adopted by competitors, Aperture still stands alone as the most powerful photo postproduction tool in the world, with dozens of features that cannot be found anywhere else.

1. Best compare and select tools in the industry

Aperture’s compare and select tools are unparalleled for powering through the process of editing a photo shoot and selecting your best shots.

2. Time-saving automation

Aperture is packed with features—such as Smart Albums—that automatically handle the laborious tasks that other applications make you do manually.

3. Direct connection to other Apple applications, devices, and services for publishing your photos

No other application makes it easier to share or publish your images, thanks to Aperture’s direct integration with iLife, iWork, .Mac, iPhone, iPod, and other Apple applications.

4. User interface that conforms to your working style

No two photographers agree on the perfect screen setup, so Aperture lets you create your own, with a flexible user interface and customizable keyboard shortcuts that help you work more efficiently.

5. Powerful tools to correct and enhance images

Aperture’s imaging tools provide deep control and help you get the most out of your images. Unique tools such as the Retouch brush, Vignette filter, and RAW Fine Tuning let you refine your images with real precision.

6. Professional end-to-end color management

Aperture’s color management is truly an end-to-end solution that includes onscreen proofing, which makes color output predictable and consistent.

7. Advanced asset management

More than just a photo processor or image browser, Aperture offers deep and advanced asset management features and lightning-fast searching to easily track images in a massive, growing collection of photos.

8. Extensibility and scripting

Aperture is fully scriptable using AppleScript and Automator, so it’s easy to create sophisticated, hands-off workflows that save you time and eliminate redundant tasks.
