One of the hideous features of Macs that I used to cover up on when asked was the poor browsing capabilities of photos.. Or so some of us thought!
Because the default program for opening pictures is preview, we had to depend on its lack of keyboard shortcuts and had to use it’s drawer functionality… Or just use other photo manipulation software… The thing is there’s a trivial and wonderful way without any programs… Your space bar!
I used a free program called Xee to browse through my photos until today a friend tipped me on this trivial, yet crucial, trick… And life certainly makes much more sense since then!
How to do that?
- Press your space bar (Which by default is used to display the information of the contents of the file or folder, so it makes sense to preview it if it is a picture)

- Just use the arrows on your keyboard to flip through them after that, also all zooming and multipad gestures work perfectly!
- You can also open the pic by double clicking, or turn the slideshow into full screen by clicking the full screen option…

So you see, Macs still are #1 Media folks… Don’t you just love those guys!
