Right After Egyptian government permitted GPS usage , i’ve checked App store and i found an App store for Egypt ! I did modify my account , added my credit card number and it Worked !. So if you want to Buy applications you can enjoy it right now.

Vodafone greece with 30 Euro=220 EGP give you more MB and can buy the device 8g for 367 euro=2750 egp but very less free time.
You are right, because in egypt they give more free time.
From the greek iPhone foroums they told me that I will have not problem.
I have to jailbreak “alatoul” the device and I can pass my settings for mobinil.
About gps also no problem.
The subject is to find maps for Egypt now.
For my HTC HD I had everything (programs maps), No problem, for navigator I have also a PNA with egyptian map and I use it in my car.
I wait a new meeting to meet the Egyptian iPhone owners.

i’m not sure weather you have to jailbreak or not , i didn’t try to use “foreign” iPhone with Egyptian SIM before except the 2G one i have .
Regarding MAPS , the regular “Maps” app on iPhone is good , also there are 2 map Apps for Cairo on App Store called “Cairo “& “iMapsPro” for 1$ if i remember well .
Regarding Mobinil’s new device with maps , i’m not changing my iPhone by this “Malakeya” for maps

Well, if u got your phone factory unlocked from Greece, then u’ll have no problem activating with yr Creek or Egyptian sim, as for gps os 3.0 solved this it’s active but no good maps and no turn by turn direction it’s a Google maps problem as they do not support Egypt’s maps, for 3g if your phone is factory unlocked then u will have under setting/general/network/cellular data network where u can edit the values and use the settings u used on your HTC

You are right, I think will be like that.
About gps, I would like to inform the iPhone users in Egypt, that there is a good map from TeleAtlas for Egypt. It has Cairo with new areas (6th October, New Cairo), interesting POIS, and 3D buildings. This map work at the HTC with Mireo black program with the name Ginius Driver.
Vodafone give this program with the new Diamond.
TeleAtlas sell this map at all the companies produce navigator software.
For iphone until moment there are 2 programs for GPS. The Sygic and the Navigon. The next months we wait 2 other programs, Tom Tom and iGO My Way.
They have maps for all the world exept Egypt for the moment. But Sygic has an Egyptian map, which they use with version for Symbians mobiles (NOKIA).
So I found this map and with helping from a friend we changed the format of the map and now play very well at any Jailbreak iphone.
Of course it isn’t legal, but why they ignor Egyptian users? If they start to sell the program with egyptian map, we will buy so as we are statutory.
I have buy Sygic program with Greek map for my PNA and I like very match.
Why mobinil and Vodafone they don’t press apple to include the Egypt at the navigator programs?
Of course Egyptians they have experience from using navigator because just before 2 months govermant allow gps.
But when they start to use, you will see all the cars to have gps. In Europe they sell chip cars with gps at basic accessories. (toyota corola, mitsubishi, renault).
