For those early risers in the world of iPhones, it was again another challenge to get legal applications off Apple’s App Store because no store was available in Egypt yet. But if you can get your phone upgraded, jailbroken, activated and unlocked, registering to a website definitely wouldn’t stop you!
Two tricks available here:
- Choose any other country where you can find dummy address information
- Choose any free application before choosing to Create Account, because the option “None” under Credit Card information only appears if a purchase of $0 is made
Step By Step Guide to Creating an App Store Account:

Step 4: Create New Account
Finally, a verification mail would be sent to your e-mail, so just follow the steps to verify your account and start downloading applications!
How to Get the Apps on the iPhone/iPod:
Once one application is downloaded, an Application tab would be included on the left menu under Podcasts. All your applications would be downloaded there and if you have additional ones you can drag them inside the Applications window.
Getting the apps on the iPhone or iPod is as trivial as getting anything on it. Just choose to sync All Applications or Selected Applications from the Application Tab.
Enjoy!

I did all the above, and chose a true address of our company branch in the California, the registration kept on telling me that I have to inpuut my Card number 100′s of times, though I chose none.
As you surely know, Egyptia credit Cards are not supported in the states…. so I could not get the “American” applications.
Using another email address, I am already getting from the UAE store all what is available…. but my problem is with Google earth that is still limited to USA and UK… this is why I named it American Application.
Would you please advise??

Hi,
I have tried this trick twice ( US , South Africa ) with no success , i keep receiving error message “You Have to complete the Form , Expiration date you entered Has already passed ” .
Probably Apple does not allow “None” as a credit card option anymore.
PS: I tried this on many iTunes versions .

Weird! It was working perfectly until last week at least.. I’ll check it out. You can get Google Earth from someone who has it, if you allow cracked apps on your phone?
I’ll post how to do that so you can check it out and i’ll check the current problem and tell u if i come up with any solutions

“You Have to complete the Form , Expiration date you entered Has already passed” – To fix that before choosing NONE, update the expiration year from 2008 to anything in the future 2010 for example. Because they are obviously validating the form anyway since the field is preset to a value o “2008″.
You will then get another error:
“You have to complete the form. Please enter a credit card number.”
So I’m working on that now and will let you know when i find a loophole.

You can get info from here, but I’m not sure how ethical it is or if they steal info or what.. so do it upon your own risk:

Guys its perfectly legal to create an iTunes based on an iTunes gift card.
Where you create an account by clicking redeem card in iTunes this is guaranteed provided you have an iTunes gift card, i’ll check if you can buy one from Tradeline stores @ city stars. Cheapest card is $15 so that can buy you a lot of Apps (since apps go for as low as $0.99)
Some bloggers are claiming that this will also work for expired cards too

Another Trick to do this :
You can select any store you like , then enter you credit card info normally ( billing address in Egypt ) , there’s no check for country upon registration .
The iTunes account will be created successfully , afterwards click on “Account” from App store to Edit your account info , then select “None” as a payment info .
Works like a charm .

Ok I officially tried it again this week (Dec 25th, 2008) and it works for europe, so if you can’t do it for the states, Go France or Germany or even UK

Guys, I hate to be the party pooper here, but that’s not really the wisest choice.
Getting an American account with the US scratch card is what I have been doing with my iPod for the past year, it has worked perfectly and couldn’t have been any better.
Here’s the bad news though. You will be charged with Taxes on some of the apps, and a Tax rate that I have not been able to figure out.
So what’s the problem with the Taxes? Well, you will never know how many exact apps you will have to buy to get your account to a perfect zero.
I bet you are asking, why do I have to worry to get my account to a perfect zero? Well, the answer is to change your address to another country. Think about the future (maybe never), when we finally get a app store in Egypt, you will never be able to move your account to Egypt unless you have zero balance in your account.
So go figure out the rest. I’m lucky that I have a backup plan on getting my account to zero, which involves a friend with a US credit card.
Cheers.
