Ironically, some of the people who claim they have always been Apple supporters now start yelling strange quoutes like “Apple is no longer for the elite!” and that kind of stuff. I think we should learn from the open source community to share and to be happy when people finally believe in what we believe in. Those supporters should be happy people are now converting to MACs instead of other platforms not finding it hard that they no longer have a unique machine! That’s a bit selfish don’t you think? I mean if I believe in something I want the whole world to know its the best.

Anyways, I have not been an Apple supporter for long I have been against the idea for so long. Now things have changed a bit, the new Leopard has really some cool features that need a closer look. The return on investment for getting a Macbook or Macbook pro is becoming much higher than old days where in my opinion MACs had some major problems mostly in their OS. Being a Computer Security expert I can say that Leopard is a huge step forward. I have to mention though that new Trojans can get to your machine if you do not install the latest security fixes which you should on any OS.

Things I’d like Apple to do to have a competing standalone OS are not much but include:

1) Making installing OS X on a non Apple machine legal. Since the OS can compete now in the market and people who cannot afford to pay for a MAC might be willing to pay for just the OS.

2) Stop focusing on looks and start going into deeper more beneficial things like going Microkernel Architecture or enhancing their Server software.

3) Make third party application developers introduce their updates through the software updater tool.

4) More freedom tuning kernel level programs.

To conclude this post I am really happy Apple is becoming more and more of a major threat to the giant Microsoft. Now with one step up with the introduction of Vista. They just need to address various user types more and know that Google is just is not sitting and watching and that Performance is Google’s game. I think I can finally say that I am glad I own a MAC :) .

This is one of the best things i’ve ever heard… I was worried you took things personally since u started with appealing to my “not for the elite anymore”.

You know to a father a daughter is the most precious thing and nobody deserves her… It’s the same thing, when i say it’s no longer for the elite, i say it’s no longer for those who appreciate it.. Mac’s should be treated with more respect, because it’s NOT just a pretty face..
So my conclusion is, people who used to attack macs without even getting to know them are now crazed by the trend rather than by the “personality”… And that’s why any loyal Macer should be upset.. Not anyone deserves a mac, they have to be worthy. So yes, i’m REALLLYYY happy that people are finally giving it the attention it deserves, but i’m devastated because it’s for the wrong reason.. Ignorance leads them to believe it’s all about the looks rather than the substance and this is BAD image for it cuz it’s totally out of being clueless about what it really is about..
I’m glad you read about leopard and i’m sure when u use your mac for more than the month or two u’ve possessed it u’ll fall madly in love with it.. But please, get to know it and don’t just “be seen with it” :)

I know u’ll do the right thing… So welcome to the family and I really hope u appreciate what u’ve got cause it’s really special..

    Welcome my friend :)

For someone who is finishing Masters and preparing for the Phd its hard to look to “be seen with it”… Anyways I take this from a sceintific prespective unlike a lot of ppl :) . no defeat to get smth aftr it finally came to light. I dont have to put up with slow machines but when they suddenly become good there is no problem in getting them. In the end these machines are just a means for us not a purpose and so you should always go with the best…The Current BEST and thats all. If im paying money there is no loyalty… just BENIFIT

U are daye333… principles my friend… loyalty is a trait of this community and its why apple will remain to be the best isA.. they have people protecting it hehe

Well marriage is not about finance its about two ppl spending their life together isnt it. BUT for something I am paying for IT BETTER be the BEST or else I will place my MONEY where I see most valuable. Apple does not care about my wellbeing for all i know. I pay money for a service. When they give me good machines I’ll buy them. If one day MacBooks are no longer good ohh u bet i’ll go for something else right away :D . I guess any practical person would do that

i say we fight with dignity, show me your knowledge and give me some of it… instead of bragging about it with no benefit :P
