If you don’t want to use SSH or you are not connected to any WIFI networks , you can use DISK AID , a free software for Mac and PC , to copy files from and to iPhone with USB cable .You’ll need a jailbroken iPhone to access to the root Directory , if the iPhone is not jailbroken , you can only access to the Media Directory .
Check out http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/ and download the free software

V. Nice one!
Unfortunately to use it, you also have to install on your iPhone an app called FileAid, which costs $3.99 on the US store.. So it’s not so free after all
But it’s pretty useful.. because it opens doors to getting apps and stuff, even cydia or installer without having to jailbreak the phone!
There’s also MobileStudio which works as an advanced mobile finder and is for only $1.99.. It uses FTP and a less “sophisticated” interface to get files on the iphone, so that non-technical people can use it as if they were browsing a regular documents folder on any computer.. Install CyberDuck or any FTP client on Mac or Win to use it.
However, it also needs WiFi cause FTP is similar to SSH in mechanism and needs an IP to connect to.
There’s a solution to avoid WiFi btw.. Make your laptop work as an access point, without the need of an actual connection.

Yes yes I’m sorry was just about to comment once again!
I didn’t notice the Folder options down on the left.. Just read the Instructions pdf which instructs to download the app in order 2 use the program..
Then i found the media folder, really cooool!
But u still need to view your documents on the phone don’t u? I got the app (cracked version to try it first) and this where it is needed.. But you can use mobile finder which is free or any other similar app i guess…
Loveee it thanx

no problem , DISK AID is good when u want to download any stuff from your phone , like cycorder videos , photos , Ringtones , and carrier logos and tweaks , it’s easier than SSH .
we need to make a Newbie guide for everything , like on how to Jailbreak and make your iPhone ready for cracked apps ” Mobile installation Patch ” .

[...] A new application is now available that uses FTP and SSH as it’s integral protocols of transmission, yet as a user all you need to do is to plug your USB cable to your laptop. You can use it instead of SSH for all sorts of things, unless you need to play with permissions you’ll have to stick with the conventional ways. See more details here. [...]

You can also check WiFiPhoto an iPhone app available on the AppStore. You can select and download multiple photos in a single zipped file to any computer over a local network in WiFi. Just point your favorite browser to the web address displayed. You can even choose compression quality. Hope it helps.
